Mentored by Logan Peters
Through the UC Davis E-Search program, I gained hands-on research experience under the mentorship of Logan Peters, a graduate student investigating neural dynamics and risk behaviors. The research focused on developing patient-specific computational models using intracranial EEG (iEEG) data from surgical epilepsy patients. This data, collected during a risk-inducing game, was used to analyze brainwave patterns and study the effects of microstimulation, with a long-term goal of advancing closed-loop neurostimulation systems.
My primary role involved data analysis using MATLAB, where I prepared, resized, and organized patient data for pattern recognition across different brainwave frequencies. Although I was initially unfamiliar with the field, this experience deepened my skills in data manipulation and analysis, enabling me to contribute to the research and grow my understanding of computational neuroscience.
